you having problems getting MadZ CD Duplicator to install
correctly? If
you are are receiving an error message during installation like
the following:
"Cannot register
c:\windows\system32\flash.ocx"
Here is how to
resolve the problem.
Step 1: Go
to the Adobe/Macromedia website and update your version of the
Adobe/Macromedia Flash Player to Version 9. Just click here:
http://www.adobe.com
Then click on the
Get Adobe Flash Player Button. Follow the instructions to update
your Flash Player.
Step 2. Once
the Version 9 Flash Player has been installed on your computer,
locate this file on your system : flash.ocx
You should find it here:
C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/flash.ocx
Step 3: Rename the flash.ocx file to flash.bak
Step 4: Locate this directory on your computer
C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/MACROMED/Flash
Step 5: Locate this file in the Flash subdirectory
flash9.ocx
Step 6: Copy this file to the C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/
directory.
Step 7: Rename the file flash.ocx
You should now be able to install MadZ CD Duplicator without any
problems.

What is
MadZ CD Duplicator? MadZ CD
Duplicator is a product of MadZ Software. The Madz CD Duplicator
interface is divided into four sections, each providing unique
functions.
 |
Audio CD Ripper: - This feature rips audio CDs and copies
selected files to your system. Its easy to use interface allows
you to copy the files error free.
 |
How does the Audio CD Ripper work?
To copy audio files into your system, just perform the
following steps: -
 |
Insert an
Audio CD in the CD Tray for any CD Drive on your system.
|
 |
Audio files
available on the CD are displayed on the Main Window of
Audio CD Ripper.
|
 |
You can
select the songs you wish to rip by clicking on
"select/check" box next to the song.
To "Select" ripping options, click on the "Select"
button just above the Main Window. You are
then provided with the following options: -
 |
Select
All: - You can select all songs given in List Window
by clicking on this option. This option is also
accessible from the Menu Bar under "Edit" Section.
(Keyboard Shortcut Key: - Ctrl + A).

Select
None: - To de-select or uncheck all the songs you
have selected in the Main Window, click on this
option. You can also access this option in Menu Bar
under "Edit" Section. (Keyboard Shortcut Key: - Ctrl
+ N).

Invert
Selection: - By selecting this option, songs that
are selected by you get de-select and songs that are
unchecked get selected. In other words, the song
selection gets inverted. You can also access this
option in Menu Bar under "Edit" Section. (Keyboard
Shortcut Key: - Ctrl + I)

Select the
target or destination folder where you want to copy the
selected songs. Your options are:

Output
Folder: - Here, you can select the output folder
where files are to be stored. When you click on icon
given with this option, the browse window opens
where you can browse to the destination
location/folder you want to store the selected
files.

Output
File Name: - This option let you select the file
name format . For ex. If you select <title>, then
all filenames will be designated by the name of
'title' of the song. There are 12 filename formats
to choose from.

Output
Format: -You can also decide the output format of
the file i.e., you can decide in which format you
want to store the file on your system.
You
choose from the following four options: -
Wav file (*.wav)
MPEG layer-3 (*.mp3)
Windows Media Audio 9 (*.wma)
Ogg vorbis 1.1 (*.ogg)

After
selecting files that need to be copied and the target
location for the files, the files can be copied to your
system. You can start copying the selected files by
clicking on "Rip CD" button. When you click on the
button, a progress bar opens displaying the status of
ripping process.

How do I play songs in Audio CD Ripper?
The Main Window of Audio CD Ripper provides you with many
Audio Control Buttons. These buttons are located just below
the file list. Here is a brief description of each button.
 |
Play: -
plays the song you have selected. You can also access
this feature in Menu Bar under "Action" section.
(Shortcut Key: Ctrl + P).

Pause:
pauses the currently playing track. You can also access
this feature in Menu Bar under "Action" section.
(Shortcut Key: Ctrl + U).
|
 |
Stop: -
stops the currently playing track. You can also access
this feature in Menu Bar under "Action" section.
(Shortcut Key: Ctrl + S).
|
 |
Previous: -
plays the track previous to the current playing track.
You can also access this feature in Menu Bar under
"Action" section. (Shortcut Key: Ctrl + V).

Rewind: -
rewinds the current track by 10 seconds. You can also
access this feature in Menu Bar under "Action" section.
(Shortcut Key: Ctrl + R).

Forward: -
forwards the current track by 10 seconds. You can also
access this feature in Menu Bar under "Action" section.
(Shortcut Key: Ctrl + F).

Next: -
plays the next track after currently playing track. You
can also access this feature in Menu Bar under "Action"
section. (Shortcut Key: Ctrl + X).

Close: -
closes the CD Tray of the system, if opened.

Eject: - The
CD Tray of your system opens when you click on this
button.

 |
Sound
(Disable/Enable): - By clicking on "Sound" icon (), you
can disable (mute) or enable the audio output of your
system. You can also increase or decrease the sound
level by using the scroll bar provided with the sound
icon.

How do I lock the CD Tray?
Audio CD Ripper gives you the unique security option of
Locking the CD Tray from the application window. It is a
good idea to lock the tray if you plan to be away from your
system for any length of time. This will prevent the tray
from accidentally being opened while a CD is playing which
can damage your CDs or even the CD drive itself.
The option is provided in the Menu Bar under "File" section.
When you select "Lock Tray" option, your CD Tray is locked &
cannot be physically opened. Conversely, you can unlock the
CD Tray by selecting the "Unlock Tray" option on the same
Menu

How do I configure Settings in the Audio CD Ripper?
You can configure the settings of the Audio CD Ripper by
selecting "General Settings" in the "Options" section on the
Menu Bar. There are two setting to configure: -

General
The general
settings are divided into three sections. These are:

Miscellaneous.
Options
available under this section are: -
 |
Play
a sound when conversion process is completed: -
This option enables you to play sound when
selected files are copied to the system. You can
customize the sound by clicking on Browse button
& move to the desired file which you want to
play.

Eject CD when extraction process is completed: -
When you select/check this option, the CD Tray
automatically opens as soon as all the songs are
copied from the CD.

Appearance.
 |
Options
available under this section are: -

Font: - Here, you can customize font of the file
list. You can select the font of your choice by
clicking on "Select Font" button.

Background Color: - You can customize the
background color of Main Window in this option
by clicking on "Color" button.

Display Gridlines: - Gridlines basically
separates the columns through lines. You can
either show or hide gridlines by select/deselect
this option.

Illegal
Character Replacement.
There
are certain characters that are reserved by the
operating system. These are called Keywords. Under
this section you can replace these keywords, if
erroneously, written in file name. These keywords
are: -

Convert space character to: - Here, you can convert
space character, if any, in the file name with your
desired character other than keywords.
Convert filename to lowercase: - If we select/check
this option, then all the file names is converted to
lower case.

FreeDB
Under this
Settings tab, you can either use automatic freedb query
server or your own proxy server for getting CD
Information from the Internet.
 |
Use Automatic Freedb Query: - On activating this option,
Audio CD Ripper will automatically search freedb servers
located in various places all over the world for CD
Information. If you deactivate this option, Audio CD
Ripper doesn't look for track info on the server and
instead displays the info provided on the CD.

Use proxy server: - If you want to access a particular
proxy server for CD Information, you can select this
option. Here, you need to enter Proxy User Name &
password to access the proxy server. |
You can save the changes by clicking on "OK" button. To
rollback the changes, just click on "Cancel" button.

What is FreeDB?
FreeDB is an organization that provides title, artist, and
track information for nearly all record albums ever recorded
on its website. www.freedb.org.
Madz Audio CD Ripper provides you with an option of
obtaining information about the audio CD from the freeDB web
server.
You can click on "freedb" icon in the Main Window to access
this feature. You can also access this feature by clicking
on "Retrieve" given under Freedb section on Menu Bar.
When you click on it, it connects to the freedb server and
searches for information on the basis of a unique CD key
code written on your Audio CD. If it finds the CD Key code
on the server, it retrieves information about album, artists
etc. & displays it on the Main Window.
Note!! It may possible that FreeDB displays more than one
genre of information for a single CD. To manually select out
of the available options, click on the down arrow next to
the FreeDB icon and manually select the correct genre.
You can also go directly to the Home Page of the freedb
website by clicking "Home Page" under freedb section on Menu
Bar.

Some additional features in Audio CD Ripper.
Audio CD Ripper also provides some additional options and
features to make user experience more convenient and
enjoyable. These include: -

Change Case:
- Using this feature, you can change the capitalization
of the text written on the Main Window. You have three
basic options: -
UPPER CASE:
- Using this option, you can change the selected text to
UPPER CASE.
lower case:
- Using this option, you change the selected text to
lower case.
Sentence
Case: - Using this option, you can change the selected
text to Sentence case. (First letter of each sentence is
capitalized and all other text is in lower case).
You can
access the above three options under the "Edit" section
of the Main Menu.

Swap Artist<
- > Track Title: - Using this feature, you can swap
"artist name" with "track title" of the selected audio
files given on the Main Window. You can access this
option under the "Edit" section of the Main Menu.

CD Database
Editor: - The Audio CD Ripper maintains a database
containing information about all audio files ripped,
burned, and/or played either by the Madz CD Duplicator
Main application or by Madz CD Detachable Player, while
Madz CD Duplicator is installed in your system. You can
view and edit this database by clicking on "CD Database
Editor" under "Tools" section on Menu Bar.
Note!! This information is maintained in the "cda.dat"
file stored in the main MadZ CD Duplicator directory or
your system.

Audio File Format Converter: - This features enables you to
convert audio files from one supported format to another
supported format. Unlike other
rippers, burners, or converters, MadZ CD Duplicator supports 11
different audio formats, including all major formats.

How
do I use the Audio File Format Converter?
To convert the
desired file, perform the following steps: -
 |
Drag
the desired file(s) you wish to convert to the Main Window .
You
can also add files through following steps: -
 |
Click on "Add files" button and browse to the location where the
file(s) are placed.
|
 |
Now,
select the files which you want to convert to another format.
|
 |
You
can add more files to the list by repeating the same procedure
above.
|
 |
In
case, you want to remove some files from the file list, just
select the files and click on "Remove Selected" button to remove
the selected files.
|
|
 |
Select the file format to which you want to convert by scrolling
down "Output format" option provided in the right section of the
application window.
|
 |
Specify the target/destination location by browsing to the
desired folder in "Output Folder" option.
|
 |
Specify the file details in ID3 format and select other options
via tab provided on the main window. This is an optional feature
that you can skip.
 |
ID3:
- You can add some extra details about the files in ID3 tag
option. The fields available in this tab are: -
 |
Title: - Here, you can enter the title you want to give to the
selected file.

 |
Track Number: - Here, you can enter the track number you want to
give to the selected file.
|
 |
Artist: - Here, you can enter the artist name of the song
selected.
|
 |
Year: - Here, you can enter the year of the audio file selected,
provided you know that.
|
 |
Album: - Here, you can enter the album name of the song selected
in this field.
|
 |
Genre: - Here, you can enter the genre (composition type) of the
song selected.
|
 |
Comment: - Here, you enter some extra comments about the file
selected that you can use as a bookmark or to memorize
something.

Copyright: - Here, you can enter details about the copyright of
the audio file selected by you.

URL:
- Here, you can enter the website address or URL from where the
song is downloaded or where you want to relate the file.
|
 |
Encoded By: - You can enter the name of the person/company that
encoded this audio file in this field.

 |
Options: - Here, you can customize technical details about the
song. The options given in this tab are: -

Frequency: - You can set frequency of the audio file selected.
You can scroll down the option bar & select the desired
frequency.

 |
Channels: - Here, you can set the sound channels whether you
want to have stereo-phonic sound or Mono sound for the file
selected.
|
 |
G726Bits: - Here, you can set the number of bits per second
since the sound is played by transmitting streaming bits. It
basically alters the sound quality of the sound.

 |
Aifc
Type: - Here, you can set the Aifc types by scrolling down the
options bar. This is a technical specification and advisable not
to alter with it unless you have knowledge about them. The
recommended type is PCM. |
Delete source file after successful conversion: - By selecting
this option, you can delete the source file as soon as file gets
converted to new file format.

Click on "Start Converter" button to convert files to desired
file format.

Bar Options
The Audio File
Format Converter has easy to use Menu Bar to assist you with
any task you wish to perform. It has three main sections.

File: - If you wish to exit the application then kindly follow
the path File -> Exit.

Action: - This section gives you an option of starting the
Conversion process. Kindly follow the path Action ->Start
Converter. (Keyboard Shortcut Key: - F8)

Help: - You can access the Help file in this section. Kindly
follow the path Help -> Online Help. You can also get details
about the application version in this section.

CD Creator:- This feature lets you create a CDs of your
important data or your favorite songs.
 |
How
does the Audio CD Creator work?
CD Creator lets
you burn audio files from your system to a
writable/rewritable CD. To create an audio CD, perform the
following steps: -
 |
Select "Audio CD" tab on the CD Creator window.
Drag file(s) you want to burn to the Main Window of this section
.
Alternatively, you can follow the steps below to add
files: -
 |
Browse to source folder by clicking on "Add files" button given
on the Main Window of CD Creator.
|
 |
Now,
select the files you want to burn to the CD.
You can add more files to the list by repeating the same
procedure above.
|
 |
In
case, you want to remove some files from the file list, just
select the files and click on "Remove Selected" button to remove
the selected files.
|
|
 |
After making a list of files you want to copy, you can now
select the CD-Recorder and Write Speed. These options are given
on right section of the application window.
|
 |
Click on "Write CD" button to start writing operation. You can
view the writing status in the Progress Bar.
|
 |
After writing operation gets complete, click on "Close" button
to complete the process
|

How
does the Data CD Creator work?
To create a
backup of your important data in your PC, kindly follow the
steps given below: -
 |
Select “CD Creator” Section on the application window.
|
 |
Select “Data CD” tab.
|
 |
Select the Target device where the CD is placed on which you
want to copy your important data.
|
 |
The
application provides you with a list box where you can list
files and folders of those you need to copy. To add files, click
on “Add Files” button and browse to the location where the files
are placed. Similarly, you can click on “Add Folders” to add
folders to the system. Note!! You can add multiple files and
folders in the list box provided you have enough space in your
CD.
|
 |
To
remove any files or folders, select/check them and click on
“Remove Selected” button. To empty list box, click on “Remove
All” button.
|
 |
You
can also check space left on your CD by clicking on “Calculate
Space” button. The application displays you a box indicating the
used space, free space if any left on your CD.
|
 |
Select Write Speed from the scroll down box given in Writer
Properties tab. Also give a label to your CD Label in the text
box provided.
|
 |
Now,
you need to select one of the Disc Compilation options. Here,
you are provided with three main options: -
 |
Joliet: - If you select this option, the application stores long
file names and provides Unicode multilingual support.
|
 |
ISO
Level 2: - On selecting this option, the application supports
file names up to 31 characters. It automatically takes only the
first 31 characters and leaves the rest if files name is more
than 31 characters.
|
 |
ISO
Level 1: - When you select this option, the application only
supports short file name up to 11 characters including 3
characters for file extension. It automatically takes only the
first 11 characters and leave the rest if files name is more
than 11 characters.

 |
Now,
click on “Write Data CD” button to start writing data on your
CD. The application prompts you with a message box when it
completes writing CD.

What
tools are available for the CD Creator?
CD Creator
provide you with some useful tools to make your job easier &
more convenient. These are:
 |
Erase CD-RW Disc: - You can clear the content on a Rewritable CD
by using this option. This feature is available under Tool
Section of the Menu Bar. When you click on it, it opens a new
window. Here, you are provided with two options: -
 |
Quick Erase: - Quick Erase is a faster option to erase data &
usually takes around 2 minutes.
|
 |
Full
Erase: -Full Erase takes more time to erase data, usually 20
minutes, since Full Erase also formats the CD to make it
function like a new CD. |
After selecting the type of erase you want , click on "Erase"
button to start cleaning the CD.

 |
CD-Information: - You can get useful information about the CD
inside CD Tray using this feature. This feature is available
under Tool Section of the Menu Bar. You can selectively delete
any of the files on the CD by selecting the file and clicking on
the "Erase" button from the upper window. Click on the "Close"
button to exit the active window.

 |
Drive Information: - With this feature, you can get valuable
information about the CD device or devices on your system. This
feature is available under Tools Section of the Menu Bar.

How
do I copy audio file track information to the CD?
When you burn an
Audio CD Track, CD Creator enables you to copy detailed
track information like artist name, album name, track title
along with the Audio file. You can activate this option by
selecting/checking the box "Write CD-Text" given on the side
of the list box.

How
do I verify the accuracy of the data?
The CD Creator
provides you with a feature that enables you to check the
accuracy of the data i.e., CD Creator will verify that
whether data is copied accurately or not.
To enable/activate this feature, just select/check the box
given with the "Test Mode" option. This option is available
on the right side of the list box under "Create CD" tab.

CD Copier: - This feature enables you to make backup copies
of your audio or data CDs.
 |
How
do I copy Audio CDs?
 |
Select the “CD Copier” Section on the application window.
|
 |
On
left section of the screen, we have an “Audio CD Copier” option.
Here, we need to select the Source Device where the CD, that is
to be copied, is placed.
|
 |
Now,
select the Target Device. Here, you need to select the device
that contains the CD on which the copying is to be done, is
placed. This must be a write capable CD drive Note!! With Madz
CD Duplicator application, you can make copy of a CD even if you
have just one CD drive in your system, as long as it is write
capable. To do it, select Target Device same you have selected
in Source Device.

Under Write Properties tab, select the write speed from the
scroll down box given.
|
 |
Now,
click on “Start Write” button to start making an exact copy of
the desired Audio CD.
|
 |
If
you have selected same Source Drive and Target Drive, then the
application first read the content of the CD. When the reading
is completed, it opens the system tray and prompts you to remove
the existing CD and insert a new, preferably blank CD, where the
copy is to be done. After inserting the CD, click on OK button
given on the prompt window to start write operation.

You
are prompted with a message box when the copy process is
completed.

How
do I copy Data CDs?
 |
Select “CD Copier” Section on the application window.
|
 |
On
right section of the screen, we have “Data CD Copier” option.
Here, we need to select the Source Device where the CD, that is
to be copied, is placed.
|
 |
Now,
select the Target Device. Here, you need to select the device
that contains the CD on which copying is to be done, is placed.
This must be a writable CD. Note!! With Madz DC Duplicator
application, you can make a copy of the CD even if you have just
one writable drive in your system. To do it, select Target
Device same you have selected in Source Device.

Under Write Properties tab, select the write speed from the

Now,
click on “Start Write” button to start making an exact copy of

your convenience and enjoyment, we also provide you with a state
of the art audio player which is fully detachable from MadZ CD
Duplicator and with which you can play your favorite songs.

Furthermore, you can change player skins according to your
preferences. At present, there are only three skin options.
However, we are currently working on others and will be
including these as part of future software updates.

The MadZ Player can be directly opened from within the MadZ CD
Duplicator application. This option is provided under File
Section of the Main Menu with the tag “Launch Player”. Click on
this option to launch the Madz Player.

 |
The MadZ Player
features all of the standard audio player options and indicators
such as play, forward, rewind, stop, pause, mute, volume
control, progress bar, play list, and many others. Additionally,
MadZ Player provides you with a choice of different display
modes so you can further customize the look and feel of MadZ
Player to suit your needs and preferences. For more information
on these modes, click here.

MadZ Player automatically access the FreeDB server for song
details. Though, it may possible that FreeDB displays more than
one genre of information for a single CD. To manually select out
of the available options, right-click on icon given on the Title
Bar and select your desired genre type.
MadZ Player also provides other useful functions. These are: -
1) Open Tray: -
To open default
CD Tray of your system, click on this button and insert your
favorite audio CD.
2) Close Tray
When you insert
audio CD into the CD Tray, click on this option to close CD
Tray. When you close CD tray, the application processes the CD
and displays all the songs in play list on the application
interface.
Now, click on the song you want to hear and enrich your soul
with great music!!!!
3) Open File
To open any audio
file in your system, click on this option and browse to the
location where the file is located. The selected audio file is
added to your play list from where it can then be played.
4) Skin Choose
You can use skins to
change the appearance of your Madz Player. Each skin has a
distinct appearance that usually incorporates basic Madz Player
functions such as play, previous, next, stop, and the ability to
adjust the volume.

offers you something exciting.
Now!! Display your
special moments on player's background!!
Whether its your high school images or a photo of your spouse,
there are some moments you always want to keep in front of you.
And, what's better than to customize it with your player's
background!!
Following are the steps to change the background image with your
favorite one:

Double click on
the background image. Note!! At present, you can only
customize the background image in Skin 1. So choose Skin 1
before making the changes. We will include this option for
additional skins in future versions of CD Duplicator.

On clicking, it
opens the Open Dialog Box.
|
 |
Now, browse the
image location, select the file and click on "Open" button
to save its path. Note!! MadZ Player only supports jpeg
files (*.jpg format) . To get optimum image display, select
the image with size - 340 (width) X 377 (height) pixels.
